Collaborative and Benign

I’m one of those people who firmly believe man is ultimately good and kindhearted. It does mean going against the mainstream of consumerist thought that man is inherently self interested and presently hedonistic. I smiled when I heard the phrase “collaborative and benign” to describe man. Plenty of folks will call you mad, but I for one prefer man as a positive being. Many have still not found enlightenment, yet here we are in the post-enlightenment period trying to become The Empathetic Civilization.

Saving Ourselves

If someone who is cold burns down an orchard to stay warm for a night, they will likely have to cope with hunger the next day…

“Since the bowl is exactly the right size, we always know just how much to eat. We never overeat, because overeating brings sickness to our bodies…. We see that people who consume less are healthier and more joyful, and that those who consume a lot may suffer very deeply…. Mindful consumption brings about health and healing, for ourselves and for our planet.”
